
The annual National Conservation Poster Contest provides students in grades K through 12 an opportunity to convey their thoughts about soil, water and related natural resource issues through art. Henricopolis Soil & Water Conservation District is delighted to sponsor this contest for the students of Henrico County as a part of our Stewardship Week celebration.
Eligibility:
The Stewardship Week Poster Contest is open to kindergarten through twelfth
grade students. Winning entries will advance to the state competition sponsored by the Virginia
Association of Conservation Districts. Winning entries at the state level will
advance to the national poster contest sponsored by the National
Association of Conservation Districts
2011 Contest Theme:
The National Poster Contest theme is "Forests for People - More Than You Can Imagine!"
Posters can also use the theme "Forests for People".
Categories:
Poster categories by grade are K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. The contest is open to
public, private or home school students.
Contest Rules:
The contest rules were created so as not to limit or revise the current rules
of local and state conservation poster contests:
Poster Evaluations:
Poster Contest entries are reviewed by the staff and education committee of the
Henricopolis Soil &
Water Conservation District. The posters are evaluated on
the following criteria:
Entry Deadline: Entries are due in the Henricopolis office no later than October 18, 2011.
