How can I buy tickets to local theme parks? How much are the tickets?
During the parks' seasons, individual tickets for Paramount's Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens and Water Country are sold at Recreation and Parks, Human Services Building, 8600 Dixon Powers Drive, Government Center. Information on the availability of tickets is provided on the Theme Park hotline at (804) 501-7500. Information on prices is available here. Does the county have public pools at the parks?
No, the county does not own or operate any swimming pools. There are several private associations in Henrico County that have swimming pools.

What are the cancellation/refund policies of the Recreation and Parks Department?
For programs: Requests for refunds must be made in writing and received 10 working days prior to the beginning of the program. (Exception: Senior Trips)

For picnic shelters: Refunds are given only in case of inclement weather that hampers use of shelter area. No picnic shelter reservation will be switched to another date or refunded due to rain until the actual reservation date is past. All refund requests must be made in writing to:

How do I find out about volunteer or internship opportunities with Henrico Recreation and Parks?
Henrico Recreation & Parks volunteer positions may include daytime, evening, or weekend hours on an as needed basis. Please note that we do not accept volunteers for our Summer Playground Program. Information is provided here. You can also call (804) 501-5231.

What do I do if I see something wrong going on in the park?
Recreation and Parks has a Park Watch Program to help keep the parks clean and safe. If you observe someone breaking park regulations, do not attempt to take any action yourself. Report the incident promptly and accurately to one of the following numbers:

Whom do I call about maintenance issues in the county parks?
Call Park Services at (804) 727-8200, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call Henrico County Security for after-hours emergencies, at (804) 501-4555.

How do I reserve a tee time at the Belmont Golf Course?
Call (804) 501-4653 to reserve a tee time. Reservations are required. Course open daily from 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m., weather permitting. You will find more information here.

What are the fees at the Belmont Golf Course?

• Weekends & Holidays:    $24
• Weekday-Daily Rate:
  Adults:    $21
  Seniors, age 62 and over:       $16
  *Juniors, age 17 and under:    $16

*In addition, Henrico County youth will receive an additional $3 off green fees when playing with an adult. Both players must be Henrico County residents.

Electric Golf Carts: 18 holes - $13 per person

Afternoon Special: All golfers will receive an additional $3 off green fees, September through March after 12 noon and April through August after 2 p.m. Henrico residents may obtain a Belmont Golf Course resident card at no charge. With this card, residents will get a $3 discount on all greens fees. You will find that information here.

Can I take my dog to a county park?
Dogs are welcome in the parks if they are under control at all times and on a leash no longer than six feet. Walking a dog on a leash is wonderful exercise, shows consideration toward other park users and is just as much fun for the pet. Dog licenses and inoculations should also be up to date.

Does the county have trails or riding areas for horses?
Dorey Park has horse trails and two horse rings. The horse trails are available to the public during park hours. The horse rings are available to the public during park hours, unless reserved for a class or event. The reservations are posted at the horse rings.

Is fishing allowed in the ponds in the county parks?
Yes, you may fish, during park hours, with a valid Virginia fishing license (if 16 and older). Fishing licenses can be obtained through the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, (804) 367-9369. Fishing Areas:

You will need to contact the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries at (804) 367-1000.

Is it possible to hunt on county property?
No, because of liability issues, it is not.
